Misty's story
Missty is a 12-year-old spayed female black lab. Misty weighs 69 pounds and is up to date on shots. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Apr 28, 2018: Misty is doing wonderfully! I have to remind myself that she's 12 years old - She definitely has a young active heart and spirit! She's enjoying the better weather and loves to be outside soaking up the warm sun. Inside, she's content to sleep on her bed until its time for the next adventure to begin. Her latest fascinatio are our young foster cats. Because she does better with our laid back cat, it leaves me to think that a young active kitty may be to much of a temptation for her to chase. We've had a couple of additions and subtractions over the last few weeks, and she's done fine meeting the new dogs and one has even decided that Misty is her new best friend! And I'll also add that the girl that comes to our house to trim nails came this morning, and Misty enjoyed the pedicure and extra attention....And the treats that came at the end; this girl does love everything food related! :-)
Mar 15, 2018: Misty continues to be a wonderful house guest. She loves running in the yard with the resident labs and watching all of the wildlife in the backyard. Her and the resident dogs are doing great together! Misty would make wonderful addition to any family as long as you have love, a comfy dog bed and some nice treats.
Feb 25, 2018: Misty is the sweetest girl. She has a beautiful soft and shiny coat. She walks great on leash and is a little shy when she first meets you, but warms up to you very soon. She enjoys retrieving the ball and sleeping on her dog bed. She also loves to swim. She rides well in the car on the seat, or in a crate. Misty is good meeting other dogs and used to live with another Lab most of her life. She doesn't like little dogs coming up to her face. She is also good with cats. Misty lived with young kids and she's approved for children ages 4 and up.
Misty is a 12 year old black spayed female. She is current on vaccines and will need a Lepto and Bordetella boosters between 3/17-3/24. She is being treated for an ear infection. Misty weighs 59 pounds which is a good weight for her.
Misty was an owner surrender because they are moving overseas. They had her since she was a puppy and she's been very loved.
This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. Lab Rescue LRCP rescues and places dogs in Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware and northeast North Carolina (30 miles east of I-95 and north of the Pamlico Sound.) Adopters must travel to Maryland, or Virginia with their family - human and canine - to meet the dog they want to adopt.
